Susanne Bier to Direct A Second Chance, Starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Academy Award-winning director Susanne Bier will return to Denmark to direct A Second Chance. TrustNordisk will start presales on the film at the upcoming AFM in Los Angeles, which kicks off November 6th.

Susanne Bier continues the long and fruitful collaboration with script writer Anders Thomas Jensen which started out more than a decade ago on Open Hearts (2002), which has since then culminated in winning the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for In a Better World in 2011.

How far are decent human beings willing to go, when tragedy blurs the line between just and unjust? With A Second Chance, Susanne Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen have crafted another startling yet moving drama, about how easily we lose our grasp on justice, when we face the unthinkable and life as we know it hangs by a thread.

The leading role will be played by “Game of Thrones'” Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Oblivion, Mama).

A Second Chance is produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen for Zentropa Entertainments14 in co-production with Zentropa International Sweden, Film i Väst. With support from The Danish Film Institute, FilmFyn, The Swedish Film Institute, Nordisk Film & TV Fond and Eurimages, in cooperation with DR, SVT.
