BREAKING: Kevin Feige Named Chief Creative Officer of Marvel
Variety brings word that Kevin Feige has been named Chief Creative Officer of Marvel, on top of being president of Marvel Studios.
The new title will allow Feige to be in charge of the overall creative direction of Marvel’s storytelling across publishing, film, TV, animation and all mediums. Additionally, Marvel TV and Marvel Family Entertainment will move under the Marvel Studios banner.
Feige will continue to report to Walt Disney Studios co-chairman and chief creative officer Alan Horn and co-chairman Alan Bergman. Dan Buckley will remain president of Marvel Entertainment and will report to Feige as well as overseeing publishing operations, sales, creative services, games, licensing and events.
Joe Quesada will remain as executive vice president and creative director for Marvel Entertainment and will report to Buckley. The outlet notes that Feige and his team are currently evaluating current projects as well as those in development on an “individual basis” moving forward.
Feige is currently collaborating with Disney+ on multiple live-action shows centering around Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Vision, and Scarlet Witch, and Hawkeye. Marvel Television will seemingly be focused on animated for the immediate future, which includes four adult animated series, namely Howard the Duck, MODOK, Hit-Monkey, and Tigra the Dazzler for Hulu. The four series will then crossover in The Offenders.
