Nicolas Cage and Alex Wolff to star in truffle hunter film Pig
Academy Award winning actor Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas, Mandy) and Alex Wolff (Hereditary) have signed on to star in the independent feature Pig. Cage will also be serving as the film’s executive producer through his Saturn Pictures banner.
Pig will be directed by Michael Sarnoski from a script he co-wrote with Vanessa Block. It will follow the story of a truffle hunter who lives together with a pet pig in the Oregon wilderness. When his beloved foraging pig is kidnapped, he must embark on a journey into Portland – and his long-abandoned past – to recover her.
“What began as a very personal project has transformed into a labor of love for so many talented people. I’m thrilled for us all to be bringing this strange world to life,” Sarnoski said.
Block added, “Sometimes a unique set of circumstances exists for the telling of a pure human story. The creative alchemy of a phenomenal cast and crew has further actualized this magic we’re eager to share with others.”
Pig will also be produced by Block, Dimitra Tsingou, Thomas Benski, Ben Giladi, David Carrico, Adam Paulsen, Dori Rath, Joseph Restaino, and Steve Tisch. It is a production by Pulse Films, BlockBox Entertainment, Valparaiso Pictures, Saturn Pictures with Escape Artists and Sweet Tomato Films co-financing the final in partnership with Len Blavatnik’s AI Film.
