Deadline reports that Jeremy Piven (Entourage), Bruce Dern (Nebraska), Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black), Zach McGowan (Shameless) and Jamie Kennedy (Ad Astra) have signed up for the Indie comedy Crabs in a Bucket.
Per the report, the plot focuses on a real estate developer named Mick (Piven), who returns to his old hometown for his mother’s Irish wake and suddenly finds himself inheriting his family’s ill-fated pub. Naturally, his sleavy boss wants to demolish the location in order to improve the neighborhood, but a rekindling with friends and family from his past forces Mick to have choose between saving the bar or his career.
Paolo Pilladi (The Winemaker’s Son) will direct the film based on a script he wrote with Greg Lingo. Rob Simmons, DJ Dodd, and Ante Novakovic will produce.
Additional cast includes Jack McGee, Jason James Richter, Royce Johnson, Chris Kerson, Lauren Francesca, Betsy Beutler, Peter Patrikios, Natasha Coppola-Shalom, and Garry Pastore.
