Per the report, Sick Girl follows Wren Pepper (Dobrev), who, fearing her friends have all grown apart, tells a simple white lie that ends up doing more harm than good; and results in an unexpected ride for the group.

The film will mark the writing and directing debut of Cram, who worked as a longtime casting associate on shows such as Ray Donovan. Sean McEwen, Cassidy Lunnen, John Papsidera and Jessica Wilde will produce the pic, while Takashi Cheng is on board to executive produce.

“The truest relationships of my life have been those of my close girlfriends,” said Cram. “I’m grateful to be able share an inside glimpse to this incredible bond with audiences everywhere.”

Dobrev is best known for her work on TV’s The Vampire Diaries, but has appeared in such films as xXx: Return of Xander Cage, the Flatliners remake, and, more recently, the now-cancelled CBS comedy Fam.
