Child’s Play’s Gabriel Bateman Joins Road Rage Thriller Unhinged

The suspense film follows a young woman named Rachel (Pistorius) who finds herself running from a man (Crowe) with a severe case of road rage. Carl Ellsworth (Disturbia) wrote the script and Derrick Borte (American Dreamer) is directing.

“Caren has that magical thing seen in all great actresses, you just believe she’s inhabiting the skin of the character she’s playing,” Crowe told Deadline in a previous statement. “Derrick went through a long casting process that culminated in an old school audition with both of us in the room. She claimed that audition in a definitive way. I know she’s been working a long time and has some great credits, but casting Caren still feels like we’ve made a discovery. It’s exciting.”

Bateman got his rise with a main role in the 2016 horror hit Lights Out and has since appeared in last year’s reboot of the family drama Benji and this year’s successful horror remake/reboot Child’s Play. He will next be seen and heard in the upcoming animated family adventure Playmobil: The Movie, which is set to hit theaters on August 30.

Pistorius was last seen in Peter Jackson’s Mortal Engines and also appeared alongside Julianne Moore in Gloria Bell, as well as Slow West and The Light Between Two Oceans with Michael Fassbender; and Denial with Rachel Weisz.

The film is gearing up for a third-quarter 2020 wide U.S. theatrical release.
