Bill Murray Says He Would Appear in New Ghostbusters Movie If Asked

Speaking with Indiewire, actor Bill Murray has revealed that he would appear in the upcoming new Ghostbusters movie, should he be asked to participate.

“I was in that movie (the 2016 reboot) just because they asked me, and I knew if I said no, I was saying I didn’t support that movie. I felt like, ‘OK, I’m going to support them because I support them as people. So I did that one and I would do this next one.’”

The cast for the currently-untitled new Ghostbusters movie includes Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, IT), Mckenna Grace (Annabelle Comes Home, Captain Marvel) and Carrie Coon (Fargo, Avengers: Infinity War, Gone Girl).

Jason Reitman will direct the upcoming Ghostbusters threequel, taking up the mantle from his father Ivan Reitman who directed the original Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters 2 (1989). Jason also had a memorable cameo in the second film. Reitman will be co-writing the script with Gil Kenan (Monster HousePoltergeist), who is no stranger to ghost stories.
