The 17th annual Visual Effects Society awards were held on Tuesday and Avengers: Infinity War cleaned up big with four awards, which also marked the first time a Marvel movie has claimed the top prize for Outstanding Visual Effects. Other big winners included Ready Player One, partly for the recreation of The Shining’s Overlook Hotel, First Man for its portrayal of the moon landing, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse for its innovative animation style.
