ILM VFX reels from Fallen Kingdom and Infinity War

Watch New ILM VFX Reels for Fallen Kingdom and Infinity War

Industrial Light and Magic (also known as ILM) has just released another handful of videos highlighting how they pulled off those special effects in movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. You can check out all three clips in the post below (via SlashFilm).

ILM was founded in 1975 by George Lucas as a division of Lucasfilm. The company originated in Van Nuys, CA, before moving to San Rafael in 1978. Since 2005 it has been based at the Letterman Digital Arts Center in San Francisco. In 2012, The Walt Disney Company acquired ILM as part of its purchase of Lucasfilm.

This year, like any year, the company was busy bringing effects-filled films to life. This includes the third Avengers film, Infinity War, which saw characters from every corner of the MCU come together to try and stop Thanos’ plan to erase half of life in the universe. Sure, they failed, but the film looked great while it all went down. The company is currently handling the effects for the follow-up Avengers: Endgame, where Earth’s mightiest heroes get one last shot to undo the damage done by the Mad Titan. The fourth Avengers flick is due out in April of next year.

Additionally, they brought dinosaurs back to life (again) in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the second film in a new Jurassic Park trilogy. A third film, known now as Jurassic World 3, is currently scheduled to hit theaters in June of 2021. Colin Trevorrow, who helmed the first Jurassic World, will direct the third installment.
