Universal Takes Sci-Fi Tale Sagittarius

Universal Pictures has plans for a new, original sci-fi project titled Sagittarius, Deadline reports. The script arrives from an idea by Steven Karczynski, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci with Karczynski providing the screenplay.

Plot details are, at this stage, not available, but the title references the zodiac constellation and there’s possibly a metaphorical link to the Greek myth of Chiron, a bow-wielding Centaur.

Kurtzman and Orci are well-known as a writing pair, having turned in scripts for films like Cowboys & Aliens, Transformers and the upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness. Karczynski, meanwhile, is best known for his “Black List” screenplay, Umbra. That film, also science fiction, is being developed for Martin Campbell to direct.
