It’s time to give Ava DuVernay’s visually colorful and vibrant adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s YA classic another consideration as it heads to Blu-ray. Three mystical guides lead the young Meg (Storm Reid) on an epic journey, tessering through time and space to find her father following his mysterious disappearance.

The Hurricane Heist
The Fast and the Furious director Rob Cohen helms this high-octane action flick about a treasury agent and a storm chaser out to stop a high-stakes heist during a Category 5 hurricane.

Every Day
Angourie Rice and Justice Smith star in this YA teen romance about a girl who falls in love with a soul named “A” who moves into a different body every day.

Death Wish
Bruce Willis steps into Charles Bronson’s shoes as a mild mannered doctor who takes the law into his own hands after his family is attacked. The vigilante classic is remade by Hostel director Eli Roth.

Devil’s Gate
This creature feature takes place over the course of 24 hours and follows an FBI agent (Milo Ventimiglia) and a deputy sheriff (Shawn Ashmore) as they search a booby-trapped farmhouse for a missing woman and her son.

The Midnight Man
Freddy himself Robert England stars in this horror entry about two teenagers who discover a mysterious game in a mansion that unleashes all their greatest fears.

Reissues

Peter Pan

Escape Plan (4K)
Before the sequel arrives on Blu-ray at the end of the month, check out the original 2013 prison break action vehicle that paired Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Released in the US in 1973 as Living Apart Together, this classy piece of Dutch erotica is best known as the movie debut of the late Sylvia Kristel before she lit the world on fire with her sexiness in Emmanuelle.

Sweet Sweetback’s Baaadasssss Song
Credited as the first blaxploitation film, this 1971 feature directed by and starring Melvin Van Peebles as a sex show performer framed for murder by two corrupt white cops. The new Blu-ray from Vinegar Syndrome features a restored 4K scan from the original 35mm negative, along with interviews with the filmmaker and more!

Pacific Rim: Uprising
John Boyega plays the son of Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost in this wild sequel to Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 kaiju monster mash.

The fourth season of the series is a modern-day retelling of Homer’s “The Odyssey,” and the Blu-ray/DVD includes an exclusive 13-minute documentary that dives into Tom Chandler’s “hero’s journey” and the parallels between the two storylines. The below clip features commentary from star Eric Dane and a USC Professor of Classics & Comparative Literature about Tom Chandler’s overall transformation in the latest season and his “Odyssean characteristics.”

Jericho: The Complete Series (DVD)
Skeet Ulrich and Lennie James star in the complete collection of the series which ran from 2006 to 2008 about a small Kansas town cut off from the rest of the world after aa nuclear blast.
