Those who laughed and thrilled to the exploits of undercover cops Jenko and Schmidt (Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill) as they tried to infiltrate a high school drug ring in their version of the 80s show 21 Jump Street should be happy to hear they’re back in you guessed it 22 Jump Street!
This time, the mismatched partners are going to college, again to infiltrate a drug ring, and they learn that while college can be a lot of fun, it offers a whole new set of challenges, including a few that might put their friendship to the test.
ComingSoon.net had a chance to sit down with the two actors at the New York junket for the movie, our video interview below beginning with the two of them commenting on them not wearing the bicycle cop uniforms they wore during previous interviews for 21 Jump Street. From there, we went right into the pressures of making a sequel so quickly after the first movie, coming up with this installment’s crazy drug sequence and how much of the very physical action scenes they were involved in. It’s actually a very funny interview that proves that the duo’s on-screen chemistry is not just “acting.”
22 Jump Street opens nationwide on Friday, June 13 with previews on Thursday night, June 12. Look for our interview with directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller in the next day or two.
