POLL RESULTS: Which Rise of Skywalker Character Needed More Development?

A lot of fans felt J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was rushed, with new characters barely introduced and established characters given short shrift. Even recent revelations said earlier cuts had Emperor Palpatine’s return explained and Rose Tico given more scenes with Leia. ComingSoon.net asked its readers to let us know which character they thought needed a serious boost in development, and around 2000 of you responded! Check out the official poll results below!

And apologies for forgetting to include The Knights of Ren, who in retrospect were not even characters.

Which Rise of Skywalker Character Needed More Development?

TOP TEN

1) Palpatine (30%, 568 votes)

2) Zorii Bliss (14%, 273 votes)

3) Rose (10%, 196 votes)

4) Finn (7%, 131 votes)

5) Kylo Ren/Ben Solo (6%, 123 votes)

6) Rey (5%, 98 votes)

7) Luke (5%, 95 votes)

8) Babu Frik (3%, 53 votes)

9) Jannah (3%, 51 votes)

10) Maz Kanata (3%, 50 votes)

Well, that seems pretty definitive. Most viewers were perplexed at best by how the very dead seeming Palpatine could somehow miraculously return with only a few fingers lost after his fall into the reactor in Return of the Jedi. New character Zorii Bliss became this trilogy’s Boba Fett, i.e. a character who looks cool but doesn’t do a whole heck of a lot… besides prove Poe’s heterosexuality we guess? Rose’s status as a main character got completely dashed, and he love interest Finn was also sidelined a fair amount in this movie.
