Plot Summary:
Cairo, 1955. After a fellow agent is murdered, Hubert is ordered to take his place at the head of a poultry firm. This is his cover while he investigates Jack’s death, monitors the Suez Canal, checks up on the British and the Soviet, burnishes France's reputation, quells a fundamentalist rebellion and brokers peace in the Middle East... "No problem," always replies Hubert, whose suave self-importance is topped only by his outrageous ignorance, political incorrectness and dumb luck. OSS 117 appears to have a way with exotic foreign beauties and is accompanied throughout his various adventures by his fetching and smart Egyptian secretary, Larmina El Akmar Betouch (Bérénice Bejo.) A cross between James Bond and Austin Powers, Jean Dujardin is OSS 117 (real name: Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath,) a French secret agent who first saw print in 1949 as author Jean Bruce's character, and eventually appeared in 265 novels and seven movies between 1956 and 1970.
