Mnet Road to Kingdom Season 2: Release Date Window & Rumoured Lineup Explored

Mnet’s famous Road To Kingdom will return with a season 2. The television channel confirmed the release date window of the second installment of the popular K-pop reality show.

Mnet has aced the K-pop reality show formula. The broadcasting channel has produced numerous renowned survival reality shows, including Boys Planet, Kingdom, Queendom, Produce 101, Build Up, and Produce 48.

The famous Kingdom series has two parts. The first installment is Road To Kingdom, in which rookie K-pop groups compete to secure a spot in the Kingdom. The Boyz snagged the winning trophy in Road To Kingdom season 1. The K-pop act got the chance to compete against Stray Kids and ATEEZ in Kingdom season 1.

Mnet confirms Road To Kingdom season 2 release date window & reported lineup

As per Mnet, Road To Kingdom 2 will be released in the second half of 2024. The television channel noted: “A new season of ‘Road to Kingdom’ is slated for broadcast in the latter half of this year. It is still in the planning and preparation stages. We will reveal specific details later, such as the program title and broadcast date. We ask for your anticipation.”

Following the news of Road To Kingdom 2, Korean media reports claimed P Nation’s first boy group, THE NEW SIX, MNH Entertainment’s rookie act 8TURN, and Xikers will be in the show’s lineup. Fans also speculate that the lineup of KCON Japan may provide a hint of all the groups that will appear in the reality show.

Meanwhile, season 1 of Road To Kingdom ran from April to June 2020. Pentagon, Verivery, Golden Child, ONF, Oneus, The Boyz, and TOO competed in five rounds and flaunted their K-pop charisma on stage. The Boyz emerged as the show’s winner, scoring 95,765 points.
