K-Pop Group Cherry Bullet Confirms Disbandment & Reveals Future Plans for Members

Korean girl group Cherry Bullet has confirmed its disbandment five years after its debut. Some of the group’s active members, formed by FNC Entertainment, will stay with the agency for future individual activities.

Cherry Bullet made their K-pop debut on January 21, 2019, with the release of their first single album, Let’s Play Cherry Bullet. The album contained three songs, including the title track “Q&A,” “Violet,” and “Stick Out.” The lead single, “Q&A,” ranked 17th on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart, showing the group’s immense potential.

On April 22, FNC Entertainment took to the fan community app Weverse to reveal the K-pop act Cherry Bullet’s disbandment. The agency wrote: “First, we sincerely thank Lullet (Cherry Bullet’s fan club), who love and support Cherry Bullet. We are relaying news regarding Cherry Bullet’s group activities.

After long deliberation and discussion with our agency artist Cherry Bullet’s members Haeyoon, Yuju, Bora, Jiwon, Remi, Chaerin, and May, their official group activities end today.” The agency also revealed the members’ plans, adding that Haeyoon, Jiwon, Remi, and May have terminated their contracts with FNC. But Yuju, Bora, and Chaerin will stay with FNC for future activities.

Cherry Bullet started with ten members- Haeyoon, Yuju, Bora, Jiwon, Remi, Chaerin, May, Mirae, Kokoro, and Linlin. Eleven months after its debut, FNC announced that Mirae, Kokoro, and Linlin wouldn’t be a part of Cherry Bullet. They have terminated their contracts with the agency for ‘personal reasons.’

As a seven-member group, Cherry Bullet released three extended plays, two single albums, and a few non-album singles. Among the group’s extended plays, Cherry Dash performed the best, released on March 7, 2023. The EP sold over 36,962 copies within weeks of its release, ranking number 7 on the Circle Album Chart.

Along with album sales, Cherry Bullet snagged multiple nominations in significant year-end award shows, including the Best New Female Artist nod in the 2019 Melon Music Awards.
