Stray Kids last released the EP Rock-Star on November 10, 2023. It sold over 4,200,000 units globally and 381,000 copies in the United States. The comeback album ranked number 1 on South Korea’s Circle Album Chart, the US World Chart, and the Billboard 200 chart. After setting a new record with their latest album, Rock-Star, the group is now eyeing their 2024 comeback.
When is Stray Kids making a comeback in 2024?
Stray Kids will reportedly return in June 2024. The K-pop group’s summer comeback will feature a brand-new album. Reports indicate that Stray Kids are planning a June comeback to synchronize with their Hyde Park concert this year. Following the release, Stray Kids will be able to present their latest tracks at the Hyde Park, London concert on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Meanwhile, Stray Kids’ album sales records with the last four releases. This has prompted fans to compare their success to that of another prominent K-pop band, BTS. Back Door crooners currently have four Billboard 200 charting albums, while BTS has six. Given BTS’ ongoing hiatus and Stray Kids’ upcoming releases, fans speculate that the K-pop group could close the gap with the “Butter” crooners in the coming year.
Stray Kids topped the Billboard 200 chart with their last four consecutive releases, including Oddinary, Maxident, 5-Star, and Rock-Star. Two of their latest drops — the 3rd full-length album, Five Star, and the 8th mini album, Rockstar — were ranked in the top 5 of the 2023 Global Album Sales Chart. This was announced by the International Association of the Recording Industry Association, making the act the most successful among 4th generation K-pop idols.
Besides this, the JYP K-pop act’s success is also reflected in the ever-increasing demand for live concert tickets. The group held its 2023 edition of the 5-Star Dome Tour across Asia. Venues like Tokyo Dome saw an attendance of over 100,000 fans.
