K-pop singer Park Bo Ram, who became famous for her Reply 1988 OST “Hyehwadong” or “Sangmundong,” passed away at the age of 30. Her agency, Xanadu Entertainment, confirmed the news of her demise, revealing a police investigation is taking place.
Park Bo Ram started her career in K-pop in 2010 after participating in Mnet’s popular music reality show Superstar K2. Bo Ram ended up in the top 8th rank in the competition and kickstarted her career in music by signing with Jellyfish Entertainment. The late singer officially made her solo debut with the release of her single “Beautiful,” featuring rapper Zico, in 2014.

“Celepretty” crooner Park Bo Ram reportedly passed away on April 11. The agency revealed that the cause of death is under investigation. The agency revealed, “Park Bo-ram suddenly left us late at night on April 11,” and added, “It is even more heartbreaking that we have to tell you this sudden news to all of the fans who support Park Bo Ram.”
The statement further stated, “The funeral will be held after consulting with the bereaved’s family. Once again, we send our deepest condolences to the deceased so she may rest in peace.” Later, another report by Chosun Ilbo shed light on the incident, citing Namyangju Southern Police Station in Gyeonggi Province.
As per the police report, the singer was with two females and was drinking at one of the acquaintance’s homes in Yangju-si, Gyeongnam. However, after going to the bathroom, she collapsed, and soon after, one of the acquaintances called 119 and the police. Once the police and fire officials arrived, they took the singer to Hanyang University Guri Hospital, where officials declared her dead at around 11:17 p.m. Furthermore, the police reportedly plan to request an autopsy from the National Institute of Forensic Science to investigate the cause of death.
Park Bo Ram will stay in K-pop fans’ hearts with her rich discography of songs and K-drama OSTs. The singer’s most famous tracks include “Pretty Bae” with Lee Hyun, “Beautiful” with Zico, the W OST “Please Say Something, Even Though It’s A Lie,” and the Reply 1988 OST “Hyehwadong.”
