Lucas Wong Documentary: K-Pop rapper reveals details from hiatus

Lucas Wong took a hiatus from his K-pop career in August 2021 after an alleged former girlfriend of the artist shared screenshots on social media accusing Lucas of gaslighting her. Shortly after, Lucas posted an apology message on social media for causing fan concerns.

Lucas wrote on Instagram: “I apologize to those hurt by my wrong behaviour. If you give me a chance, I would like to personally convey my words of apology. I also genuinely apologize to my fans who have given me lots of love and support. While watching the situation during the past few days, I have looked back on my past behaviour and sincerely reflected on it. Looking back on my behaviour of the past, it was clearly wrong, and it was an irresponsible behaviour that betrayed the support that my fans have shown me for a long time.”

Three years after the incident, Lucas seems remorseful in his new documentary Freeze, where he addresses the issue. Lucas talked about not leaving the house for months after the scandal, where he did not feel like continuing his day-to-day life.

Lucas said: “I stayed only in my room for about six months, I didn’t want to do anything.” He added: “In all seriousness, my hair kept falling out. I didn’t even eat properly because I had no appetite. I had terrible thoughts; I was so sorry I wanted to die, because honestly it was all my fault.”

Without mentioning anything specific, he added how regretful he was. He reuttered if he “had not done that, this wouldn’t have happened.”

“Honestly, I did the things I did in the past because I really was out of my mind,” he continued.

Lucas takes a moment to add his afterthoughts telling fans: “I haven’t been able to say this properly, [not] even once, but I feel so sorry. I’ve done a terrible thing, I feel so sorry that I let everyone down. Nothing can justify what I’ve done. Now, my views have changed, I realised many bad things about myself.”

Lucas’ new solo era started with him opening his new social media profiles to promote his solo debut. The artist has also shared multiple charismatic snaps of him after the documentary’s release. SM Entertainment is yet to reveal the specifics of his new debut. But fans are already excited to see what he does next.
