Red Velvet Member Wendy Gives Update on Wish You Hell Release Date

Red Velvet‘s Wendy is making her solo comeback soon. The K-pop singer will release her new solo album, Wish You Hell.

Wendy, aka Shon Seung-Wan, debuted solo with the extended play Like Water on April 5, 2021. After years of lending her honey vocals to K-drama soundtracks and Red Velvet’s discography, Wendy flaunted her prowess as a solo singer in Like Water.

The extended play was recognized in South Korea as it stood at number 4 on the Gaon Music Chart. The album also impacted Japan, ranking number 71 on Billboard’s Japanese Hot Albums chart.

After three years, Wendy is now ready to return to the music scene with a solo album.

Wendy’s new album Wish You Hell release date revealed

Red Velvet Wendy’s new album Wish You Hell will be released on March 12 at 6 p.m. KST/ 4 a.m. ET/ 1 a.m. PT. The album will contain six tracks, with the title track “Wish You Hell.”

While Wendy’s first EP, Like Water, was filled with ballad-type songs showcasing the natural vocal abilities of the Red Velvet icon, the title of her new mini album suggests something edgier.

Wendy’s music label SM Entertainment posted a cryptic album poster with the announcement, raising curiosity among music fans. The poster shows a heart sign on a chalkboard with empty chairs in the room filled with blue tapes, signifying the aftermath of a love that is now being ‘studied’ or ‘investigated.’

Wendy will also be participating in the much-awaited concert of SM Entertainment, SMTown Live: 2024, at Tokyo Dome, which will be happening on February 21 and 22. As a teaser, Wendy will likely hint at her album at the star-studded concert.

Along with Wendy, her label mates NCT Dream is also returning in March. The group is at the final preparation stage before officially announcing the news.
