Jungkook on Standing Next To You: ‘I wasn’t immediately drawn to the song’

Golden album’s “Standing Next To You” is the main track that was released on Friday. The music video features Jungkook showcasing his dance skills. From the cinematography to the BTS member’s expression, the song has it all.

However, the K-pop idol originally didn’t like the track. In an interview with PICKCON, Jungkook revealed, “Let me tell you when I first heard this song. After Andrew and I finished recording Seven, he played this song again. I wasn’t immediately drawn to the song, but there was a grandeur to it when I heard it.”

He added, “There was no choreography or performance at that point. But when I realized that it would be really cool to do something onstage I just kind of came up with these drawings. So, I think it’s a very appropriate song for the title of this Golden album”

JK’s “Seven” and “3D” were Billboard Hits this year. Only time will tell whether “Standing Next To You” will be another feather on his cap. Aside from these three, the other songs from Golden album include “Closer to You” featuring Major Lazer, “Yes or No,” “Please Don’t Change” featuring DJ Snake, “Hate You,” “Somebody,” “Too Sad to Dance,” “Shot Glass of Tears,” and “Seven (Clean Version)” featuring Latto.

Jungkook will promote his album in the US next week. He will make a solo appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show and the Today Show.
