SBS 2019 K-drama Vagabond is an action-packed thriller. The creators gave an open ending to the drama featuring Lee Seung-Gi and Bae Suzy in the lead. However, the drama couldn’t maintain the hype by the end of the drama with what it started. Scroll ahead to read as the drama’s ending is explained.
The storyline of the K-drama revolves around a mysterious plane crash that led 211 passengers to death. Among them, Cha Dal Gun’s (Lee Seung-Gi) little nephew Cha Hoon (Moon Woo-Jin) also died. Devastated at his loss, he started investigating the case because he did not accept the official explanation that it was an accident.
Vagabond: Does it have a happy or a sad ending?
Spoilers ahead. In Vagabond, after noticing something suspicious in the video sent by Dal Gun’s nephew, he wanted to investigate the case further. However, in the process, he finds a huge cobweb of national and international corruption.
In the meantime, President Jung Kuk-Pyo (Baek Yoon-Sik resigns for messing up the real truth behind the air crash. Soon after, Dal-Gun’s life gets intertwined after meeting an NIS (National Intelligence Service) agent, Go Hae-Ri (Bae Suzy). After a certain turn of events, they join hands to dig up the truth behind the crash, along with a few parents who want to know the secret.
As the investigation heightens the situation, the viewers find out that one of the pilots, Kim Woo-Gi, along with the suspicious man from the video, have survived the crash. This adds to the curiosity about the audience to know what follows the storyline.
Apparently, Woo-Gi had planned a huge insurance pay, and his wife knew beforehand that the plane would crash. However, as the couple knew so much about the incident, they were everyone’s target.
Woo-Gi gets kidnapped, but somehow, Dal-Gun, Go Hae-Ri, and Tae-Woong find him and get him back to the court to testify. However, Dal-Gun’s guilt never left him alone for leaving his nephew on that plane.
Amid all of these, a blooming love story between Dal-Gun and Hae-Ri gave the viewers a breath of fresh air. As Vagabond is a mystery thriller, it would not have been great to see lovey-dovey scenes between the male and female leads. But their scenes were enough to bring a smile to the viewers’ faces. However, Lee Seung-Gi and Bae Suzy made great onscreen chemistry. Other actors also gave their best performances in the drama.

The creators wanted to keep the tension and thrill to the end. However, from the second part of Vagabond, the show’s grip loosened. The ending wasn’t clear, and keeping an open conclusion to it wasn’t helpful either.
