Marry My Husband Actor BoA Shuts Down Comments on Her Appearance on Instagram Live

Actress and singer BoA (Kwon Bo-Ah) currently appears on the hit tvN K-drama Marry My Husband. The series has grown to be immensely popular among viewers, and BoA essays the role of the villain in it. Although she entered a little later in the series, the actress has been earning a significant amount of attention. While some viewers seemed to have welcomed her as the villain, others have concerns about her appearance this late in the drama.

Marry My Husband follows the story of Kang Ji-Won (Park Min-Young), who travels back in time to seek revenge on her husband and best friend. In the process, she falls in love with her boss, Yoo Ji-Hyeok (Na In-Woo). BoA essays the role of Oh Yu-Ra, Yoo Ji-Hyeok’s former fiancée, who wouldn’t let him get together with Ji-Won. In a recent Instagram live, BoA shut down malicious rumors about her appearance in the drama. Viewers criticized her overly-done lips, and the actress was quick to address the hate and criticism regarding the same.

BoA reacts to malicious comments about her lips on Marry My Husband

On February 8, 2024, BoA addressed her fans via her Instagram live. She expressed her desire to wish fans ahead of the Lunar New Year and talked about her recent appearance on tvN drama Marry My Husband. She appeared in the latter half of the series as the new villain and Yoo Ji-Hyeok’s former fiancée. The actress portrays a toxic character, determined not to allow Ji-Hyeok to get together with Ji-Won.

BoA addressed her late arrival to the series and understood fans’ concerns but noted that the drama had to serve its purpose. In response to fans hating on her character, she said (originally in Korean), “I’m sorry. I also didn’t want to disturb Yoo Ji-Hyeok and Kang Ji-won’s happiness.” BoA also noted that their on-screen romance was beautiful, as she witnessed it while filming.

BoA further addressed malicious comments about her appearance in the series, especially focused on her lips. Viewers noted a change in the actress’ lips and were quick to assume and judge. However, the actress addressed the criticism during the live and said, “I have a bit of a habit of biting my lips. That’s why it started to spread. A lot of people are worried about my lips, but they’re fine. You really don’t have to worry.”

The actress talked about her scenes with the lead, Park Min-Young, and complimented the filming atmosphere. BoA noted that she had fun filming with people around her age, which she found “refreshing.”

Marry My Husband airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:40 p.m. KST on tvN. The series is also available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
