Park So-Dam Drama List: Death’s Game, Parasite & More

Park So-Dam is a 32-year-old South Korean actress who recently appeared in the new K-drama, Death’s Game. She is a versatile actress known for doing various types of roles.

While she plays a stubborn personality in Death’s Game, Park So-Dam made fans’ hearts flutter in Record of Youth. One of her achievements includes starring in the Oscar-winning film Parasite. She started her acting career through independent films after facing rejections in the mainstream. In 2015, she rose to fame with the feature film The Priests.

In personal life, the actress went through surgery for thyroid cancer. On the work front, she featured in two projects in 2023 — Phantom and Death’s Game.

Death’s Game

Death’s Game is the latest Park So-Dam K-drama, which premiered on Friday, December 15, 2023. It is the story of Choi Yee-Jae (Seo In-Guk), who is depressed and frustrated after losing his job and girlfriend. With no hope for life, he decides to end it. Seeing the way he least values his life, Death gets furious.

Death appears in the form of a woman (So-Dam) and punishes Yee-Jae. The punishment involves 12 cycles of life and Death in different bodies. If he doesn’t want to go to Hell, he must survive any one of the lives.

Parasite

Parasite is the 2019 critically acclaimed Korean drama. The story revolves around a low-income family who begins to live a parasitic life after getting involved in a wealthy household.

Ki-Woo (Choi Woo-Sik) takes up a private tutoring job at the wealthy Park family’s household. Seeing the opportunity, Ki-Woo’s family finds a way to bag jobs in the same household. Soon, they begin to enjoy the luxury while the Park family is not home.

Park So-Dam plays Ki-Woo’s sister in the Academy Award-winning movie.

Record of Youth

Record of Youth is a 2020 Park So-Dam drama about the struggles of finding success. Best friends Sa Hye-Jun (Park Bo-Gum) and Won Hae-Hyo (Byeon Woo-Seok) start their modeling careers together. But the latter’s social status helps him bag more work, including acting jobs. After a lot of struggle, Hye-Jun finds success.

While his dream seems to come true, his relationship with his girlfriend, An Jeong-Ha (So-Dam), suffers. She also has dreams to achieve, but scandals around her boyfriend make her life difficult. The series also includes a love triangle angle among the three characters.

Cinderella and the Four Knights

Cinderella and the Four Knights is a 2016 K-drama with the fairy tale concept. Eun Ha-Won (Park So-Dam) is talented but unhappy with her life with her stepmother and step-sister. One day, she becomes a live-in butler to three spoiled cousins.

During her journey to teach discipline to the boys, she finds love. The K-drama is not just a romance comedy but also consists of a dramatic family storyline. Aside from So-Dam, the cast includes Jung Il-Woo, Ahn Jae-Hyeon, Lee Jung-Shin, Son Na-Eun, and Choi Min.

Phantom is the 2023 Park So-Dam drama film set in 1933. When Korea was under Japanese occupation, the security locked up five Gyeong Seong residents suspected to be Phantoms, anti-Japanese organization spies.

The story revolves around the five suspects struggling to escape the torment. The actors who played the suspects include So-Dam, Sol Kyung-Gu, Lee Ha-Nee, Park Hae-Soo, and Seo Hyun-Woo.

Aside from the aforementioned dramas, Park So-Dam has also appeared in Beautiful Mind, The Priests, Special Delivery, The Silenced, and many more.
