Chul-Hwan tries to lure out Young-Hwa by mentioning that if she lives, Do Ha will suffer. When she comes out, he runs towards her with a sharp object. Do Ha comes in between and gets stabbed.

An intense atmosphere is created in the Moon in the Day finale. Chul-Hwan reveals that Do Ha’s spirit will leave Jun-Oh’s body if he kills him. Young-Hwa is shocked and heartbroken when she realizes that Do Ha will leave her. Kim Young-Dae’s character finally ends Chul-Hwan, aka Soribu’s evil spirit, and breaks the curse. Moon in the Day ending: Did Do Ha die?

Towards the end of Moon in the Day, Young-Hwa finds out Do Ha has returned. She rushes to the funeral, sees him, and hugs him. He looks at her and asks, “Who are you?”

She then realizes that he is not Do Ha but Jun-Oh. The top star is back from the dead. He doesn’t remember the moments possessed by Do Ha. The episode further shows everyone moving on with their lives. One year has passed and Young-Hwa seems to be doing fine.

She is the star firefighter and enjoys little things with her friends and loved ones. On the other hand, Jun-Oh is cancer-free and asks Min-O about his missing time. He mentions that he keeps remembering a name, Kang Young-Hwa. Min-O tells him that she is the one who saved him at the Han River and was her bodyguard afterward.

Jun-Oh meets Young-Hwa at a temple and realizes that there is no trace of Do Ha in him. Jun-Oh finds a letter addressed to her. When she opens the letter, she learns it’s from Do Ha. He wrote it a day before her 30th birthday. It was a goodbye message, asking her to live happily. Young-Hwa follows his wishes and desires to meet him in her next life.

She has her final dream, where she chooses not to kill Do Ha in her past life. The end scene of Moon in the Day K-drama shows Young-Hwa and Do Ha’s reunion in their next lives.

Overall, Moon in the Day ending was not sad but satisfactory and realistic. Viewers might feel disappointed that Do Ha and Young-Hwa didn’t have their happily ever after. Fortunately, they find each other in their next life. So, one can say Moon in the Day has a happy ending.
