Rowoon, aka Kim Seok-woo, is a 27-year-old South Korean actor, model, and singer. He rose to fame as a member of the boy band SF9 but now is ruling the South Korean entertainment industry with his acting talent.

The Destined With You star has always had the on-screen charm and thus, he has become one of the fans’ favorite K-drama actors. After gaining success in the acting world, Rowoon recently decided to completely focus on this path and therefore, he bid farewell to SF9.

The 2019 K-drama was one of the first series that featured Rowoon as the lead actor. Extraordinary You starred several currently popular actors, such as Kim Hye-Yoon, Lee Jae-Wook, Lee Na-Eun, Jung Gun-Joo, and Lee Tae-Ri.

The King’s Affection

The King’s Affection is set in the Joseon dynasty. The Crown Princess gives birth to twins but sends the girl away to protect her. Years later, the twins meet and the son dies. The girl takes his place as the Crown Prince and hides her identity. She meets a physician and the two fall for each other but cannot be together as no one knows that the Crown Prince is a woman.

Park Eun-bin plays Crown Prince Lee Hwi/Dam-Yi / Yeon-Seon, while Rowoon essays the role of physician and royal tutor Jung Ji-Woon in the 2021 drama. 

She Would Never Know

She Would Never Know is the 2021 romance drama about a senior and her junior at a cosmetics marketing firm. After coming out of a complicated relationship at work, Song-Ah is reluctant to start a new office romance with her junior Hyun-Seung. 

Won Jin-Ah plays Yoon Song-Ah and Rowoon essays Chae Hyun-Seung’s role. Their on-screen romance became the selling point of the cute heart-fluttering K-drama.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is Rowan’s 2022 K-drama series, in which he portrayed a different character than his usual rom-com roles. The story revolves around a young man named Choi Joon-Woong who continuously fails to secure a job. He suddenly meets with an accident, encounters three grim reapers, and discovers that he has become half-human and half-spirit. Joon-Woong joins grim reapers in the crisis management team as a contract worker and prevents suicides.

The cast includes Rowoon as Choi Joon-Woong, Kim Hee-Sun as Koo Ryeon, Lee Soo-Hyuk as Park Joong-Gil, and Yoon Ji-on as Lim Ryung-Gu.

Destined With You

Destined With You is Rowoon’s latest K-drama alongside Jo Bo-Ah. The lead actors’ chemistry in the series has garnered immense appreciation from critics and audiences. 

Rowoon plays a lawyer named Jang Shin-yu who wants to get rid of a centuries-old family curse. The key to his freedom belongs to a civil servant, Lee Hong-Jo, who has a past life connection to Shin-yu. 

The former SF9 member’s charm in Netflix’s Destined With You will surely win him some awards and recognition. This year, he also made a cameo appearance in Ahn Hyo-Seop and Jeon Yeo-Been’s A Time Called You. Rowoon won hearts as Hyo-Seop’s love interest in Episode 8.

Meanwhile, Rowoon is set to appear in another interesting romance comedy, The Matchmakers, opposite Cho Yi-Hyun. The drama premieres on October 30, 2023.
