Does Rowoon’s Destined With You Have a Happy Ending? Episode 16 Trailer Hints at Trouble

Popular K-drama Destined With You is nearing its end, and fans are eager to know how it will end. Episode 16 will air on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 10:30 p.m. KST on JTBC and stream on Netflix. So far, fans have been waiting for a happy ending for the lead couple – Jang Shin-yu (Rowoon) and Lee Hong-jo (Jo Bo-ah).

However, the immediate future of the couple could look better if the teaser trailer is anything to go by. In the finale trailer, search parties are employed to look for Hong-jo, who has been kidnapped by Na Jung-beom (Ahn Sang-woo). The trailer ends with Shin-yu finding Hong-jo unconscious and crying while asking her to come to her senses.

Since this doesn’t exactly suggest a happy ending, viewers will have to wait and see what’s in store for the finale as well as the future of the couple.

Destined With You Episode 16: Will Jang Shin-yu and Lee Hong-jo end up together?

Episode 15 of Destined With You saw Jang Shin-yu shocked to learn that Hong-jo has gone missing. He asks the bodyguards who were employed to oversee his girlfriend to search the park, where she was last seen with an office employee. Meanwhile, Na Jeong-beom is seen praying inside a cave with an unconscious Hong-jo lying behind him.

JTBC released the trailer of episode 16 on October 12, 2023, and the situation does look grim. The first scene sees Hong-jo running away from Ne Jeong-beom into the forests. She keeps putting up clues to confuse him and lure him another way. Shin-yu reaches the cave and finds her belongings, which makes him skeptical of his girlfriend’s safety.

The police investigate the office employee for being an accomplice in Hong-jo’s kidnapping. Meanwhile, the team searches for Hong-jo in the forest. In the trailer’s final scene, Shin-yu finds Hong-jo unconscious and slowly approaches her, fearing the worst. He then calls her by her name (informally) and begins to cry, asking her to wake up.

We can’t predict what the writers have in mind, but fans are surely hoping for the lead couple’s happy ending.

Destined With You cast Rowoon and Jo Bo-ah tease intense episode 16

As the drama ends on Thursday, the cast shared their closing remarks. They also teased what viewers can expect in the upcoming episode. Jo Bo-ah, who plays Lee Hong-jo, expressed gratitude to the K-drama’s viewers. She further requested them to look forward to the ending.

Recalling that Jang Shin-yu and Lee Hong-jo’s past lives have been revealed, Jo Bo-ah hinted at what fans can look forward to. She said, “Hong Jo and Shin Yu’s past life narratives have been revealed. Based on the identity of ‘Red Hand’ (Aeng Cho) and the poignant history of Hong-jo and Shin-yu, you will be able to feel even more sad emotions. I hope you will also enjoy the confrontation with Na Jeong-beom.”

Meanwhile, Rowoon reflected on playing Jang Shin-yu and expressed that he was really happy to do justice to his character. He further said, “Please watch until the end to see whether Hong Jo and Shin Yu, who have gone through many twists and turns, will be able to stay together.”

Yura played her part as the villain and Shin-yu’s former girlfriend, Yoon Na-yeon. She expressed being sad to see the filming end, and more so now that the drama is also about to end.
