A Good Day to Be a Dog Episodes 1 & 2 Recap

The rom-com K-drama A Good Day to Be a Dog centers around Han Hae-na who has a family curse that turns the members into a dog when kissed by someone. Until and unless the same person kisses them back, the family will repeatedly transform into a canine every night.

In A Good Day to Be a Dog episodes 1 and 2, Hae-na, Jin Seo-won, and Lee Bo-gyeom are introduced as colleagues. The former likes Bo-gyeom and thus decides to confess in order to kiss him and hope to break the curse. During a team dinner, the trio get drunk, and Hae-na finally confesses as she says to Bo-gyeom, “What I want to tell you is…I like you, Mr. Lee.” She then leans forward and kisses him.

While kissing, he hears Bo-gyeom’s voice asking whether she is okay. She is surprised, thinking how he can speak while kissing. To her shock, she realizes that she has confessed and kissed Seo-won instead of Bo-gyeom.

As implied above, the kiss triggers the curse, and she transforms into a dog at midnight. She must now kiss Seo-won again within 100 days to break the curse. Otherwise, she will permanently turn into a dog, resulting in a short lifespan. She tries hard to convince Seo-won to have dinner with her so that she can get him drunk. While Hae-na is busy planning how to kiss him back, the premiere episodes show that Seo-won is afraid of dogs due to a past traumatic event. Even after several failed attempts, Hae-na does not seem to be giving up yet.

Episode 2 also teased fans with an exciting plot. When the characters above go to an escape room game, Bo-gyeom is shown being fascinated with the year 1952. Towards the end of the episode, a scene from the ancient past features Seo-won protecting Hae-na, holding a knife.
