Superstar Rajinikanth will be next seen in his 170th project, titled Vettaiyan. Touted to be an action drama, the movie is quite anticipated among its fans. So far, the makers have only revealed the first glimpse of the movie. However, it seems that Thalaivar’s fans will not have to wait very long to catch the movie’s teaser. A new report has claimed the teaser will be released by mid-April.
Rajinikanth was last seen in an extended cameo in the sports drama Lal Salaam. However, the movie did not perform well at the box office as its makers had anticipated. Now, all eyes are on Vettaiyan. TJ Gnanavel is serving as the movie’s writer and director.
Apart from the superstar, Vettaiyan boasts an ensemble cast featuring celebrated actors from different industries. Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Ritika Singh have been roped in for key roles in the movie. Moreover, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is also a part of the movie.
Vettaiyan teaser to release on Tamil New Year?
According to a report by OTTplay, there is a buzz among the film circles regarding Vettaiyan’s teaser. The report has revealed that the makers of the movie are aiming to release the film’s teaser on Tamil New Year, April 14. However, no official announcement regarding this has been made yet.
Vettaiyan is currently in production, and its shoot is in full swing. As a result, the movie’s shoot will allegedly be wrapped up in two weeks. The first glimpse of Rajinikanth’s character from the movie left the audience in awe.
A previous report claimed that the movie is set against the backdrop of India in the 1980s-90s. Moreover, Rajinikanth will play the role of an honest cop who stands against the exploitation of educational institutions. This hints at mass action in the movie.
The movie is expected to be released by Diwali 2024.
