Malayalam Movie Premalu Sets a New Record with Telugu Box Office Collection, Claims Report

After enjoying a triumphant run in its original language, Premalu began its Telugu box-office journey on March 8, 2024. Surprisingly, within just 10 days, the movie captured the attention of the Telugu audience and achieved significant success at the box office.

Girish A.D. directed the film with a stellar cast, with Naslen and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, Shyam Mohan, Akhila Bhargavan, and Sangeeth Prathap playing supporting characters.

Premalu narrates the story of a young graduate lad, Sachin, who is in search of employment. Having faced several setbacks in achieving his dream of moving to the UK, his journey eventually takes him to Hyderabad.  This major turn leads to the start of his love life. The movie unfolds how Sachin’s life changes after he falls in love with a girl.

Premalu record-breaking collection at Telugu box office

After a month of its theatrical run, Premalu has maintained its strong run at the box office collection and shows no sign of stopping. According to reports from sacnilk, the film’s Indian net collection now stands at $7.5 million. Not only this, but the film has also made a significant global impact, with a total worldwide collection of $13.8 million.  At the same time, Premalu (Telugu) has also made a record at the box office collection.

Reportedly, the Telugu version has collected $1.2 million (₹10.54 Crore) worldwide within 10 days of its release. However, this achievement marks a new record for the highest earnings by a dubbed version of a Malayalam film. SS Rajamouli’s son, SS Karthikeya, also expressed gratitude to the Telugu audience for the film’s monumental success. He penned down that a good cinema knows no language barriers.

While Premalu continues to captivate audiences with its romantic storyline and gain attention worldwide, it will be intriguing to see at what collection Premalu ends its box office run.
