Vi Anand’s horror fantasy film, Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, stars Sundeep Kishan in the lead role. The movie follows the journey of three individuals who enter the mysterious village of Bhairavakona. So, let’s delve into the story to find out what happened in the movie.
Ooru Peru Bhairavakona begins with Basava, an auto driver, who encounters a girl named Bhumi. She takes a ride to chase down two bikers who stole her bag. Basava is instantly smitten with Bhumi and takes this ride as his mission to recover the bag from the bikers. However, upon retrieving the bag, Basava discovers it contains human remains. Before he can question Bhumi about the contents, she disappears with the bag.
The next day, some individuals coerce Basava into hiding a kidnapped girl in his car trunk, who turns out to be Bhumi. Shocked by this revelation, Basava brings Bhumi to his home and demands answers about the bag of bones.
Reluctantly, Bhumi shares the truth with Basava. She reveals that she is from the village of Panchagudem, where people considered their land as mother. Thus, they believed that they had no right to own the land. But one day, some outsiders forced villagers to leave the land because they discovered that villagers were not officially registered to stay there. When the villagers refused to leave the village, they set the entire village on fire, due to which villagers were forced to leave the place.
Bhumi discloses that the bones belong to Jangaiah Dora, the former village head. She had brought them to conduct a DNA test to prove her ownership of the land and reclaim it for the villagers.
Why did Basava go to Bhairavakona?
After knowing these things, Basava pledges to help her in this endeavor. However, tragedy strikes when, in a bid to protect Bhumi from the powerful people, Basava accidentally slits Bhumi’s throat, resulting in her death.
After this tragic incident, Basava was in never-ending guilt; he planned to offer a large amount of money to powerful people in exchange for Bhumi’s land. Lacking the necessary funds, he creates a plan to steal jewelry from a wedding ceremony. With the help of his closest friend, John, Basava orchestrates the theft and plans their escape in a car. However, their plans take an unexpected turn when they encounter Geetha, a girl injured in a road accident. To save her, they decided to take her along. However, their plans were complicated when the police began to pursue them.
As they attempt to evade the pursuing police, they drive deeper into a forest. Spotting a path illuminated by fireflies, they unknowingly enter the mysterious village of Bhairavakona. Upon entering the village, they hear a warning: they can never leave once inside.
Despite this, they step into the village. After entering the village, they witness people draped in mystical attire and reciting ancient chants. Their search for the stolen jewelry leads them to Rajappa’s forest, where they come to know that Rajappa, a long deceased made the jewelry for his daughter. After learning this, they abandon their pursuit of the jewelry to safeguard themselves.
In their desperate attempt to escape, they discover that the village gate opens during Shukla Paksham and closes after Krishna Paksham, revealing the eerie cycle of the village’s existence. Additionally, the spirits trapped within the village cannot find peace due to unresolved anger and vengeance.
Ooru Peru Bhairavakona Ending: Did Basava get the bag of jewelry?
As Basava, John, and Geetha delve deeper into the mystery surrounding the stolen jewelry, they uncover a shocking revelation: Katyayini, the bride from whom Basava stole the jewelry, was Rajappa’s daughter.
Rajappa, a former dacoit turned jeweler, had made this jewelry for his beloved daughter. However, driven by greed, Rajappa’s servant Murali betrayed him, resulting in a fatal confrontation that led to Rajappa’s demise. In a twist of fate, Murali took Katyayini under his care, raising her as his own daughter.
With a daring plan, Basava returns to Bhairavakona with Geetha disguised as Katyayini to retrieve the jewelry. Hoping that Rajappa wouldn’t recognize her as an adult.
Upon their return, Rajappa is delighted to see Geetha, whom he believes to be his long-lost daughter. However, his joy turns to fury when he notices Katyayini’s missing birthmark. Ready to unleash his wrath upon them, Rajappa ultimately realizes that Katyayini is content with Murali as her father. Overwhelmed with relief, Rajappa allows them to take the bag of jewelry.
In a surprising twist at the movie’s end, Bhumi learns the truth behind Basava’s actions. Initially consumed by thoughts of revenge, Bhumi discovers that Basava’s motivations are rooted in sacrifice and love, not malice.
Witnessing his unwavering dedication to retrieving the jewelry to aid her people. She let go of her anger and broke free from the village’s hold on her. In the end, Basava fulfills his promise by reclaiming the land of Panchagudem and bringing justice to Bhumi and her community.
