2. Drishyam

Drishyam is a gripping Indian crime thriller directed by Nishikant Kamat. The film premiered on the silver screen on July 31, 2015. Starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Rajat Kapoor, it is a remake of the acclaimed 2013 Malayalam film of the same name. The story of Drishyam unfolds in a remote village in Goa.

The film follows Vijay Salgaonkar, a cable TV network operator, played by Ajay Devgn, who leads a content life with his wife and two daughters. However, the disappearance of a teenage boy shatters their tranquility. The Salgaonkar family becomes the prime suspect in the investigation headed by IG Meera Deshmukh (played by Tabu). Following its success at the box office, Ajay and director Rohit Shetty collaborated for the sequel Singham Returns in 2014. The actor reprised his role in the director’s subsequent films in The Cop Universe, Simmba (2018) and Sooryavanshi (2021).
