Showtime X (Twitter) Review: Emraan Hashmi, Mouni Roy’s Performance Praised

Emraan Hashmi‘s much-awaited series, Showtime, hit Disney+ Hotstar and impressed fans with his and Mouni Roy’s performance. Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar directed the series alongside creator Sumit Roy. Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Mihir Desai serve as executive producers under Dharmatic Entertainment. 

It also stars Mahima Makwana, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles. Showtime dives into the inner workings of Bollywood, shedding light on the power struggles and off-camera fights.

Showtime Review: Fans left impressed by Emraan Hashmi’s series

After Disney+ Hotstar made the first four episodes of Showtime available for streaming, netizens quickly shared their thoughts. They took to their X handles (formerly Twitter) to share their review and praise the series. 

While appreciating Emraan Hashmi’s performance as Raghu, one user wrote, “#Showtime proves once again why #EmraanHashmi is a force to be reckoned with in Bollywood. His portrayal of Raghu Khanna is terrific, and looking forward to seeing what happens in the last four episodes (to be out in June).”

Even critics came forward to express their admiration for the actor. One critic wrote, “#EmraanHashmi’s performance in #Showtime is a revelation. As Raghu Khanna, he brings a perfect blend of intensity, depth and vulnerability to the screen. Yet another brilliant performance by the OG of Bollywood!”

Fans were also delighted to see Mrunal Thakur’s cameo in the series.

Mouni Roy’s performance as Yasmine Ali did not disappoint either. One fan wrote, “Just saw 1st episode of the #ShowtimeOnHotstar dudee. It was crazy, and as always #Mouniroy giving something or the other reason to get more addicted to her Proud Mounian here. You slayed again, girl.”

Showtime is divided into two parts, with the series part 2 expected to be released in June. The final episode for part 1 ended with a scandal, building the plot for the upcoming episodes.
