Kaabil Ending Explained & Spoilers: How Did Yami Gautam’s Movie End?

Helmed by Sanjay Gupta, Kaabil is a Bollywood thriller that stars Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam in lead roles. Released on January 25, 2017, the film received critical acclaim for its performances, direction, and engaging storyline that kept the viewers on the edge of their seats. Kaabil is available to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar.

Kaabil’s gripping narrative and emotional depth impressed the audience. While Yami Gautam as Supriya Sharma came off as nuanced, Hrithik Roshan’s Rohan Bhatnagar received praise for its intensity and conviction. Director Sanjay Gupta was acclaimed for his handling of the subject matter and taut pacing of the film.

How did Rohan meet Supriya?

Rohan Bhatnagar, a congenitally blind but kind-hearted young man, earns his livelihood as a dubbing artist for animated programs. Through mutual friends, he crosses paths with Supriya, an independent and confident woman who is also visually impaired. Their shared experiences and mutual understanding blossom into love, culminating in their marriage. However, their idyllic life takes a tragic turn one fateful night.

While returning home after a dinner outing, Rohan and Supriya encounter Amit Shellar and his friend Wasim. Amit is the younger brother of a prominent politician, and a local goon causing chaos. In a drunken state, Amit and Wasim harass the couple, provoking Rohan’s anger. The situation escalates the following morning. While Rohan is away at work, Amit and Wasim intrude into their home and sexually assault Supriya. Rohan, upon discovering the brutal attack, immediately notifies the police, but their response proves inadequate.

Despite Rohan’s efforts, he and Supriya are kidnapped by Shellar’s henchmen and held captive for an agonizing 36 hours. Upon their release, they face further distress. The authorities criticize them for the delay in seeking a medical examination for Supriya, casting doubt on their credibility. The ordeal takes a toll on their relationship, with Rohan withdrawing into himself while Supriya struggles to cope.

Tragedy strikes when Rohan returns home early one day, intending to reconcile with Supriya, only to find her lifeless body. The revelation of Supriya’s suicide note, detailing a second assault by Amit, shatters Rohan’s world. Blinded by grief and rage, Rohan vows to avenge his wife’s death. He warns Officer Chaubey that he will take his revenge, and Chaubey will know all along but will not be able to do anything about it.

Did Rohan get his revenge?

Using his dubbing artist skills, Rohan meticulously orchestrates a plan to lure the perpetrators into his grasp. He first ensnares Wasim, framing Amit for his demise before focusing on Amit himself. Guided by his acute senses and knowledge of familiar surroundings, Rohan leads Amit to a warehouse, where he exacts fiery retribution.

Chaubey’s suspicions mount as Rohan’s actions escalate, culminating in the demise of Madhavrao Shellar, who he holds responsible for his wife’s suffering. With no tangible evidence against Rohan, Chaubey finds himself powerless against the blind man’s calculated vengeance. In a final act of closure, Rohan scatters Supriya’s ashes at sea, bidding farewell to his beloved and the painful chapter of his life.

In the end, Kaabil portrays the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity, showcasing the lengths to which love and justice can drive a determined soul.
