Bramayugam Box Office Collection Day 5: Mammootty’s Movie Stays Steady

The latest horror thriller Bramayugam has taken the Malayalam film industry by storm. The movie’s plot and visuals left the audience horrified and are being lauded widely. Mammootty has played the lead role in the film, and it is a testimony of the actor’s love for art and unique ideas. Not only positive reviews, but the movie also opened up to good numbers at the box office. After spending five days in theaters, the film has earned millions.

Bramayugam follows the story of a classical singer Thevan, played by Arjun Ashokan. After escaping enslavement, Thevan takes refuge in a mysterious house owned by an old man with a grin on his face. Soon, Thevan realizes the presence of an evil spirit in the house. Mammootty’s sinister look and Arjun Ashokan’s craft left the audience on the edge of their seats.

How much did Bramayugam earn so far?

Being a regional flick, Bramayugam had a good opening at the box office. According to Sacnilk.com, the film earned approximately $373.67K on its opening day. On Day 5, the film garnered $198.9K net in India. Therefore, the film’s alleged total earnings have reached $1.73 million net in India. These numbers are expected to go up following the release of Bramayugam’s Telugu version.

On February 19, as per the same report, Bramayugam’s Malayalam occupancy was 29.49%. Over 100 shows of the film were added after seeing the response of the public.

However, Bramayugam is not the only Malayalam movie currently running in theaters. It is competing with Tovino Thomas’ Anweshippin Kandethum, Premalu, and Biju Menon-starrer Thundu. Despite the competition, the movie has managed to mint impressive numbers.

Rahul Sadasivan has directed and penned the story and screenplay of Bramayugam. The movie has been completely shot in black and white. Its monochromatic settings depict that it is a period film. Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios bankrolled this horror flick.
