Rajinikanth Lal Salaam OTT Release Date Changed?

Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s latest directional, Lal Salaam, hit the big screens on February 9, 2024. Even after Rajinikanth’s cameo, the movie is struggling at the box office. It witnessed a comparatively smaller opening at the box office than other Rajinikanth’s movies. While the movie is running in theaters, recent sources confirmed that makers are planning its digital release after four weeks of the theatrical run.

Along with Rajinikanth, the film also features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles. The film has been produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Lyca Productions. Reportedly, the movie accumulated around $427K on its opening day. It has minted over $1.6 million till Day 6. Taking its overall worldwide collection to $2.7 million.

Lal Salaam follows the story of two cricketers, Thiru and Shamsu, from Murarbad, a village where Hindus and Muslims live happily together. As the story moves forward, some politicians provoke communal riots among the villagers to take advantage in the upcoming elections. Meanwhile, Moideen Bhai (Rajinikanth) wants to bring harmony to society by educating people. The movie centers around religion and caste-based discrimination.

Lal Salaam OTT to get early release

While Rajinikanth’s previous movies gained an impressive amount at the box office, Lal Salaam is facing a downfall in collection. The movie has received a poor response in both Telugu and Tamil belt. Originally, the makers decided to premiere the movie on Netflix 60 days after its release. However, an official announcement about the OTT release date is awaited.

Moreover, on IMDb, Lal Salaam has received a rating of 5.3/10, while BookMyShow has rated the film 7.1/10 with around 15.9K votes. Overall, it will be intriguing to see which date will the makers choose for its digital release.
