Lal Salaam Box Office Collection Day 4: Rajinikanth’s Movie Struggles

The latest Tamil star-studded film, Lal Salaam, has been in the theaters for four days as of today. The movie saw Rajinikanth in an extended cameo role, while Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth played the two leads. Soon after the movie came out, it received mostly positive reviews for its social message. Despite the superstar’s screen presence and reviews, Lal Salaam is struggling at the box office. Below is the movie’s box-office collection of its fourth day in the theaters.

Aishwarya Rajinikanth made her comeback to the director’s chair with Lal Salaam. While several stars from the industry came on board, celebrated composer AR Rahman gave the movie’s upbeat music. Lyca Productions bankrolled the film and allegedly paid Rajinikanth a hefty cheque.

How much did Lal Salaam earn so far?

Lal Salaam scored a decent earning on its opening day. However, as the days pass, its daily box-office collection is coming down. On its Day 4, as per Sacnilk.com, the movie earned approx. $136.14K net in India.

So far, the movie has allegedly minted a $1.33 million net in India. This is far less than what Rajinikanth starrers usually make. With his last outing, Jailer, the actor dominated the box-office records and became one of the highest-paid actors in India.

Lal Salaam follows the story of two aspiring cricketers from a village in Tamil Nadu. They come from different religious backgrounds but live in a society with communal harmony. However, due to the interference of some politicians and their vicious intentions, their village faces communal riots. Caste and religion-based discrimination are among the sensitive social issues that the movie touches on. Despite the challenges, the two cricketers overcome the hurdles and restore peace in their hometown.

As per various reports, Lal Salaam will arrive on Netflix after its theatrical run. However, an official announcement confirming the same has not been made yet.
