AR Rahman Reviews Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam, Praises Superstar

AR Rahman recently joined hands with Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rajinikanth for their upcoming movie Lal Salaam. The film is just a few days away, and its makers are busy promoting it. While fans are excited to see Superstar Rajinikanth in a new light, AR Rahman recently gave his verdict on the movie. He not only praised the actor but also revealed how the film has come out to be better than he expected.

Lal Salaam is a sports drama that Stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles. Rajinikanth is allegedly playing an extended cameo in the movie. The film’s plot revolves around two talented aspiring cricketers who are kicked off their team. In order to achieve their dreams, they have to deal with the setbacks and prove themselves.

The movie marks Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s comeback to the director’s chair. AR Rahman has provided the film’s music, which is already topping playlists.

AR Rahman reveals Lal Salaam is not ‘cringy’

During the grand audio launch event of Lal Salaam, AR Rahman gave a moving speech on the film. The Academy Award-winning music composer revealed that he first thought the movie would be boring, but it turned out to be heartwarming. As per Indian Express, he said, “When Aishwarya first told me the story of the film… I thought ‘This film is going to be boring da.’ I thought it would be preachy. Until I saw the film…”

AR Rahman then heaped praises on Rajinikanth for changing Lal Salaam a bit. He said, “The scenes that I thought would be cringy and preachy were handled very thoughtfully and were heartwarming. I then asked her who wrote dialogues for the movie, and she said, ‘I wrote and Appa changed a bit.’ I realized it was his wisdom. Because he respects everything, he has researched well and has said many rare things,” he said.

Lal Salaam will hit the theaters on February 9, 2024.
