In a recent report by Pinkvilla, it is revealed that Karan Johar is planning a romantic comedy. His next venture will feature Khushi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s eldest son, Ibrahim. Additionally, the project is set to be a direct-to-digital release and will be produced under Johar’s digital wing, Dharmatics.

According to the sources, “It’s being planned as a direct-to-digital project to be produced by his digital wing, Dharmatics. The film will go on floors next year and will be directed by Shauna Gautam. The makers are in talks with a leading OTT player for streaming rights.”

Although Karan Johar’s film is yet to be titled, the production has already started. The film is being described as a quintessential romantic comedy, and the story is deemed more suitable for the OTT platform than a big screen.

The source added, “It’s one of those romantic comedies that Hindi Cinema is known for. However, Karan and co. feel that the palette of narrative fits better for the OTT than the big screen. It’s planned and will be executed as an OTT original.”

As mentioned earlier, the film will be directed by Shauna Gautam, a familiar name in Johar’s working circle. She has worked as an associate director on Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. She also took up the position of assistant director to Rajkumar Hirani on Sanju.
