Filmmaker Atlee made a smashing entry in Bollywood this year with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. The film has been breaking records, even internationally, since its release. Now the director is looking into a sequel to the film.
In a recent interview, Atlee was asked what character he would like to set a spin-off with and he said Vikram Rathore. As for the sequel to Jawan, he said, “See every film of mine has such kind of [open] ending. I never thought of doing a sequel to any of my films. I gave an open arc to it and if something strong comes to me, definitely I will come up with it (sequel). Let’s see.”
Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan Extended Version On Netflix
On the occasion of Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, Netflix released Jawan on November 2, 2023. As a gift to his fans, the film was released with an extended version on the OTT platform. Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma, under Red Chillies Entertainment, are the producers of the film. Jawan stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Deepika Padukone, Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra also appear in supporting roles.
As per director Atlee, they wanted to look into a different rhythm for streaming as Jawan already had the perfect ratio of emotions. The streaming platform even released a short announcement video featuring Shah Rukh Khan, where he held Netflix hostage.

The short clip shows Shah Rukh Khan asking Netflix to release his film Jawan within the next two minutes. He then warns the Netflix authorities that he will detonate the room if the film is not released in the next 120 seconds.
Jawan is now streaming on Netflix with an extended version and will be available to stream in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
