Yesterday we ran a fantastic interview with director Don Coscarelli about the PHANTASM franchise, specifically the new 4K restoration overseen by Hollywood genre hero J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions.
The world premiere of that new version of the film, dubbed PHANTASM: Remastered, premiered last night at the Stateside Theatre in Austin, TX as part of the 2016 SXSW film festival.
Abrams and Coscarelli introduced the film to the festival audience; also in attendance was PHANTASM actors A. Michael Baldwin and Kathy Lester as well as co-producer Paul Pepperman and vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli.
