Cult Epics bringing gory German art film to Blu-ray.
Though German provocateur Jörg Buttgereit is primarily known for his transgressive classics NEKROMANTIK and its even more deranged sequel, his 1993 psychodrama SCHRAMM is almost as gory and equally as upsetting. This writer remembers seeing it at the 1993 Toronto International Film Festival at midnight. I was indeed upset.
Cult Epics released the NEKROMANTIK films on Special Edition Blu-ray last year, along with his grim shocker DER TODES KING and now, they’re preparing to release SCHRAMM on April 12th and they’ve packed it with putrescent features.
The film will be presented uncut in an HD transfer from the 16mm negative with a new 5.1 Surround audio design (shudder…this movie sounds as gross as it looks).
Features include:
Audio commentary by Buttgereit and co-scripter Franz Rodenkirchen
Audio commentary by actors Florian Koemer von Gustorf and Monika M.
Exclusive introduction by Buttgereit
The Making of SCHRAMM
Short films: HORROR HEAVEN in HD with commentary by Buttgereit, BLUTIGE EXZESSE IM FUHRERBUNKER (BLOODY EXCESS IN THE LEADERS BUNKER) in HD, MEIN PAPI (MY FATHER)

Original motion picture soundtrack (yay!)
Cult Epics was kind enough to send us some screen shots from the new transfer. Look at the gallery below and prepare to get queasy…
