Full Features List Announced For Arrow’s AUDITION Blu-ray Release

Takeshi Miike’s notorious psychodrama AUDITION coming to Blu-ray via Arrow Video.

“Kiri…Kiri…Kiri…”

Maverick Japanese madman Takeshi Miike‘s much discussed 1999 horror classic AUDITION is coming to Blu-ray on DVD and Blu-ray on February 29th and will also be released as a limited edition Steelbook. All of this GOREgeous mayhem comes courtesy of our friends at Arrow Video.

You know the film. It’s an unforgettable work, one that set the course for Miike’s ensuing insane cinematic adventures and also inspired international acclaim and imitation, with a wave of more explicit, sadistic horror films screaming to life in its wake.

In it, recent widower Shigeharu Aoyama is advised by his son to find a new wife, so he seeks the advice of a colleague having been out of the dating scene for many years. They take advantage of their position in a film company by staging an audition to find the perfect woman. Interviewing a series of women, Shigeharu becomes enchanted by Asami, a quiet, 24-year-old woman, who is immediately responsive to his charms. But soon things take a very dark and twisted turn as we find that Asami isn’t what she seems to be…
