The Demolisher Poster Exclusive: Fantasia’s Vigilante Horror

Premiering this month at Montreal’s storied genre celebration, the Fantasia International Film Festival, is Gabriel Carrer’s The Demolisher. The Canadian DIY filmmaker (In the House of Flies) lends his tale of a repairman gone rogue Apart from sporting a mean moniker and a synthy accompaniment to hard edged throwback of citywide violence.Shock Till You Drop presents two exclusive posters from the film ahead of its debut.

In The DemolisherBruce is a repairman tormented by a crippling sense of responsibility for his disabled wife Samantha, an ex-policewoman. Bruce’s increasing hypersensitivity to the injustice suffered by his wife, steer him down a dark path of vigilantism. His disintegrating mental health, paranoia and overwhelming sense of doom, causes Bruce to channel his rage towards a young woman. Both a character study and a psychological examination of trauma, The Demolisher is an unapologetic portrayal of what can happen when a fragile mind is pushed too far.

The Demolisher world premieres Monday, July 27 at Fantasia. It plays alongside films like the great new Spanish horror Shrews Nest, anticipated anthology Tales of Halloween, French horror Hostile and acclaimed Korean thriller Haemoo (Sea Fog). For tickets and info on the full Fantasia lineup, head to the festival’s official home. Below, find the posters, as well as images and The Demolisher‘s latest trailer.
