Ash vs. Evil Dead: Sam Raimi on Ash and Mia

One of the biggest quotes out of Friday’s highly entertaining Ash vs. Evil Dead panel at San Diego Comic-Con was the mention of an Ash and Mia (Jane Levy in Evil Dead 2013) team-up. The notion had been hinted at some of the first rounds of press and screenings of Fede Alvarez’s remake, and the fans who enjoyed the very red 2013 take on Evil Dead surely looked ahead to Campbell’s old pro and Levy’s fierce lead taking on a deadite plague together.

At the panel, Evil Dead director Sam Raimi was asked about the possibility of another film. His answer revealed that the success of Evil Dead ’13 could lead to that possible splatter co-starrer. At press talks however, Raimi was a bit more hesitant. Shock asked if this was something they’d consider for later in the series or a film, as reported.

Raimi says, “It’s something Fede and I just talked about once. I probably shouldn’t have said anything. I think we still have a lot of stories to tell; the writers and the writing staff, and Craig DiGregorio, our showrunner, have a lot of stories to tell of Ash before something like that would take place.”

Ash vs. Evil Dead will premiere this Halloween on Starz.
