Seemingly the proper first stills from Mark Neveldine’s foray into horror and demonic possession, The Vatican Tapes, have arrived.
I’m continuously curious, “What does a Mark Neveldine-directed horror film look like?” As one half of the duo which brought us the manic, unhinged Crank films, will a horror film like The Vatican Tapes go big, brash and sacrilegious? I certainly hope so.
The great Michael Peña stars in the film, which follows “Angela Holmes, an ordinary 27-year-old until she begins to have a devastating effect on anyone close, causing serious injury and death. Holmes is examined and possession is suspected, but when the Vatican is called upon to exorcise the demon, the possession proves to be an ancient satanic force more powerful than ever imagined. It’s all up to Father Lozano to wage war for more than just Angela’s soul, but for the world as we know it.”
