Off-Broadway musical Zombie Prom, influenced by horror comics, atomic sci-fi and 50s kitsch is set for big screen adaptation from filmmakers Mark Landry and Vince Marcello.
Landy and Marcello have previously written Disney Channel features Teen Beach Movie and its sequel, as well as the previous Zombie Prom short film (pictured above). Marcello will direct the feature, based on the stage musical from Dana P. Rowe and John Dempsey. Steve Longi and Michael J. Roth are producing the film about a rebel, his good girl paramour Toffee, and the vat of nuclear waste he falls in. The bad boy Jonny returns as a zombie to take Toffee to the prom.
The original short starred RuPaul as teacher Ms. Strict. No word on when Zombie Prom will get going. [Variety]
