Here’s the hook of IFC Midnight release Bound to Vengeance: It kicks off where most thrillers wind down. Instead of enduring the kidnapping and torture of the film’s young heroine, the movie opens on her escape. With such a jolt comes a whole new set of horrors however, like a nightlong journey to free those in the same, squalid situation.
In Bound to Vengeance, Eve (Tina Ivlev), fights back and manages to escape a malicious abductor. However, after discovering she may not be the only victim, Eve unravels a darker truth and decides to turn the tables on her captor (Richard Tyson, Three O’ Clock High).
Bound to Vengeance is colorful, grainy and plenty violent. It ultimately didn’t work for me, but might for you on June 26th.
