Trailer: Awesome, Reckless Thriller, Cop Car

Cop Car is crazy. A World Premiere in the Midnight section of this past winter’s Sundance Film Festival, Jon Watts’ stomach-knotting boys adventure thriller is  a terrific exercise in recklessness and tension. Get a taste of its mad energy in the newly released official trailer.

In the film, directed by Clown’s Watts and starring Kevin Bacon, “two good-natured, but rebellious young boys (James Freedson-Jackson and Hays Wellford) stumble across an abandoned cop car hidden in a secluded glade, and decide to take it for a quick joyride. Their bad decision unleashes the ire of the county sheriff (Bacon) and leads to brutal consequences.”

Cop Car pulls no punches, and becomes a little unbelievable in the danger of its sequences. The threat, thrill and anxiety is real deal, and it’s a truly fun, if hands-on-your-head tense experience. I wrote a bit about the film out of Sundance right here.
