New Trailer: Guillermo del Toro

The official trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s highly anticipated spookshow, the period ghost tale, Crimson Peak is here.

Crimson Peak is directed by del Toro—seeming very much in line with his Spanish-language work like Pan’s Labyrinth and The Devil’s Backbone—and written by both del Toro and Matthew Robbins. In the film, when her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place ?lled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.

Update: I had this ready to post as quickly as possible. Having watched the trailer, this films looks an utter spectacle of secrets and design (spectral, set and otherwise). Colorful and Gothic; of a piece with Hammer, Bava and Corman’s Poe films, but also entirely del Toro. I can’t wait.

Update #2: Below, also find the brand new international trailer for Crimson Peak, which rounds out Mia Wasikowska’s character and her history a bit more. I also spy a bit of giallo glove.

Legendary and Universal release the highly anticipated Crimson Peak October 16th, 2015. Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam star.
